Tyson Fury backs Ngannou to beat Wilder, but expresses reservations

In the lead-up to a potential fight between Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury has voiced his support for the former UFC heavyweight champion, but with a hint of doubt.

Fury has a personal history with Wilder and hopes Ngannou can knock him out, but ultimately predicts Wilder will come out on top.

“He’s big enough to knock anybody out, but I don’t think he does because I think Wilderknocks him out first,” Fury told Fight Hub.

“Wilderis the type of guy who’s like a piece of s**t kinda guy, so I’d like to see Ngannou chin him, knock him spark out. But I don’t think he would.”

Fury has faced Wilder three times, drawing in their first bout in 2018 and winning the next two in 2020 and 2021.

Despite Wilder’s accusations of cheating in their matches, Fury simply believes he didn’t beat him hard enough in their last bout.

“No, I just don’t think I gave him a good enough beating in that third fight,” he stated.

“That was a beating for the ages, I gave him some rattling punches.

“But he obviously didn’t take enough punishment. So don’t rule out a fourth fight.”

As for the potential fight between Ngannou and Wilder, Fury will definitely be tuning in, saying, “It remains to be seen whether the fight between Ngannou and Wilder actually takes place, but Fury will certainly be watching if it does.
