UN Peace Ambassador organises football competition in Delta

United Nations peace ambassador, Meshack Ikechukwu Odide has called on the people of the Nsukwa clan in the Aniocha south council area of Delta North Senatorial District to continue to live in peace and unity for development.

The ambassador made the call at the grand finale of a football competition organised by him on December 31, 2024 at Adonte in the council area.

Adonte community emerged winner of the competition with two goals to defeat Nsukwa community which had one goal.

Odide said he organised the tournament to further encourage peace, unity and love in the area.

He appealed to the people to be their brothers’ keepers at all times, saying that as a way of encouraging the youths, the best footballer among the youths in the tournament would be trained to become a professional footballer.

Ambassador Odide advised youths in the locality to be focused, live their lives in the fear of God and shun acts that are capable of truncating their future.

Odide who is also the founder of the MIO humanitarian foundation that has brought succour to many in the country, presented one hundred bags of rice and ten cartons of tomatoes each to the eleven Communities in Nsukwa Clan.

Presenting the items to traditional rulers of the communities for distribution to their subjects, the philanthropist announced a free medical eye treatment for six hundred people with eye problems in the area

Meanwhile, the people of Nsukwa Clan have commended Ambassador Mishack Odide for his philanthropic gesture
describing him as an uncommon personality with a heart of God.

Respondents at the event prayed for Engineer Odide for caring for his people despite the fact that he is not a politician.

It would be recalled that Ambassador Mishack Odide presented five hundred bags of rice and twelve cows to his community Adonte in 2023 and this year, he decided to extend the gesture to the eleven communities of Nsukwa Clan.
