University of Ibadan agog as ex footballers reunite on the 9th of December

The University of Ibadan is set to witness a gathering of its ex football players at its 3rd annual reunion slated for the 9th of December, 2017. According to the organisers of the event,  this year’s edition, aptly titled “3rd Annual Global Reunion 2017” promises to be the most memorable so far with the calibre of personalities expected to grace the event from all over the world.

The occasion will commence by 7.30am on the said day with a Football game amongst the ex University of Ibadan footballers at the OBAFEMI Awolowo Stadium Complex inside the University of Ibadan and a Get-Together /Award Ceremony Party will come up later in the day in Bodija GRA, Ibadan.

The Reunion event is expected to have in attendance many notable names in Nigerian Football who at one time or the other, were students of the prestigious premier university of Nigeria. Such personalities include  Dr Abiodun Salami, former Super Eagles player and  current Sports Director of the University of Ibadan, “Headmaster” Mutiu Adepoju, former Santander of Spain and Super Eagles player who featured at both the USA 94 and France 98 World Cups, Oladimeji Lawal, a former Super Eagles player who featured for Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup in Canada in 1987 and the U-20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia in 1989, Dr Robinson Okosun, the Team Psychologist of the Nigerian national team and Edith Agoye, current coach of 3SC FC, Ibadan and a former player of the team as well as Esperance FC of Tunisia.

Also expected are Patrick Ngwaogu, current coach/match reader of Abia Warriors FC, Dr Tosin Adeniyi, Festus Adegoju, CAF A Licensed coach,  Gopaldresg Benjamin, former Kwara United Star who featured at the World University Games in Spain and currently based in the USA, Duru Henry Ikechukwu, G.M. Liberty Football Academy, Barrister Rotimi Alli, Deji Babalola, Jide Alaka, Edwin Evbie, Dauda Adedamola,  Vitalis Odozor, barrister Kola Majaro, Kola Okolo former striker of the team now based in the UK, Kolade, a lawyer and former team goalkeeper now based in Canada likewise Muse Omokhabi, a former team keeper now based in France, Yosouf Messi (Dubai), Oladimeji Abimbola (Etokebe) amongst others too many to mention.

According to the program of events released for the reunion, there will be music, football and an award ceremony to honour deserving members. All fans and football lovers are enjoined to troop out to watch their former stars during the novelty match on the 9th of December.
