The Super Falcons have arrived at their camp in Lome, Togo, to prepare for their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Benin Republic.
Eight players, including captain Asisat Oshoala and Folashade Ijamilusi, have already arrived, with 13 more expected to join them.
New invitee Joy Omewa, as well as Turkey-based defender Tosin Demehin, China-based forward Folashade Ijamilusi and the home-based quintet of goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, defenders Blessing Ilivieda and Miracle Usani, midfielder Taiwo Afolabi and forward Kafayat Mafisere have also arrived.
The Head Coach, Justine Madugu has confirmed the team will have their first training session in Lome on Monday and face Benin Republic on Thursday at the Stade Kegue, Lome, with the return leg scheduled for October 28 at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.
The tie is a decisive qualifier for 2026 WAFCON—hosted by Morocco and also Africa’s route to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. Togo time (4 p.m. Nigeria time), with the match staged in Lomé because Benin lacks a CAF‑approved stadium.
