Warwick targets 3SC job

Nigerian-born UEFA (A) licensed coach, Brunks Oritsemonesan Warwick has expressed interest in coaching Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) that are to campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season.

It will be recalled that the management of the Oluyole Warriors on Monday, fired coach Fatai Amoo, following the performance of the team which finished in the relegation zone at the just-ended Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Warwick, who coached Liverpool John-Moore University, UK team to the World University Games in Tokyo, Japan 2006 said he’s ready to work in the country so as to give back to his community.

He stated that he has what it takes to handle a team even in the Nigerian top-flight.

“I have been in the country for a while now and I know what it takes to manage a professional side. I have UEFA (A) Licence coach and I have acquired enough practical experience to weather the storm.

“I want to coach Shooting Stars moreso being a traditional team that are well followed within and outside the country. There are a lot of expectations of the team because their admirers are all over the country and I believe with God, I’m up to the task if given the chance,” the former assistant coach of Guinea-Bissau U-17 national team told TribuneOnline.

The Delta State-born coach stated that he is familiar with Nigerian football having played for the defunct NNPC FC of Warri, Concord FC and El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, adding that his experience too while playing abroad would be brought to bear on the 3SC job if given the chance.

“I equally played for ASC Bouake of Ivory Coast, USM of Gabon, Saint Etienne of France, Elfborg of Sweden and FC Porto of Portugal before I veered into coaching and once the enabling environment is created, I can coach any team to achieve the desired results,” he said.
