We don’t know much about Sierra Leone –Musa

Former Leicester City forward, Ahmed Musa has admitted the Super Eagles don’t have much information about the Sierra Leone national team, but is confident Nigeria will do well against their opponents.

The Super Eagles will resume their campaign to reach the next African cup of the nations in Cameroon, when they lock horns with the Leone Stars on the 13-17 of November.

Nigeria will host the first meeting at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, while the reverse fixture is scheduled for Freetown National stadium in Sierra Leone four days later.

Speaking ahead of the first leg, Musa admitted Sierra Leone isn’t a familiar opponents, but the Super Eagles have to play their own game as the both are very important for the Super Eagles qualifications.

“It is true we don’t know much of the Sierra Leone national team, but we have resolved to play our best game to beat them at our home and away. Two victories over them will give us the ticket to AFCON, so we won’t joke with the games,” he said on Monday in Abuja.

CAF has confirmed that both matches will be played behind closed doors, in order to maintain the guidelines due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Musa, admitted playing without the fans is a big blow to the players, but promised they team will do everything humanly possible to win the matches.

“Playing without our ever supportive fans at the newly refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia stadium will not affect our games both in Benin City and Freetown. It’s quite a pity that Edo fans will miss the opportunity of seeing us play live because of the pandemic but we shall try to win for them,” he stated.
