Why I prefer late substitutions ―Rohr

Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr, has said that he always make substitutions in games to avoid a tactical blunder.

Speaking during Tuesday’s press conference in Uyo ahead of today’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Benin, the Franco-German tactician said; “I always try to give the starting XI enough time to express themselves.

“I also have to be very sure that the player I want to take off has done all he could during his time on the field of play.”

Rohr stated that before making a substitution, he has to be wary of injuries to any of the players adding that early substitutions can affect his game plan.
