I will raise new Super Falcons for Nigeria —Adebutu

Bouyed by the excellent performance of the Super Falcons of Nigeria in retaining the African women Cup of Nation (AWCON) title in Cameroon,  business mogul Sir Kessington Adebutu says he is ready to assist the country in raising fresh champions from the under 17  and 20 teams.

Chief Adebutu disclosed further that time has come for other stakeholders to assist the government in the sponsorship of various competitions in the country, also promising to start organising the female version of the under 18football championship beginning from the  2017 edition of the competition in Ogun state among teams from across the state.

Adebutu while addressing sport journalists prior to the final of the 2016 Ogun state football association under 18 boys championship between Sagamu local government football team and Abeokuta North football team  played at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu.  appealed to parents to always  allow their wards to take to sports as some of them could end up eking out a living for themselves. He also promised to continue with the sponsorship of the tournament  which he added  that his foundation  will always bankroll.

Sagamu local government football team defeated Abeokuta North team on penalties after both teams had ended the highly explosive game scoreless at regulation time.

Earlier in the third place match played at the same venue,  Odeda local government team pipped Ikenne local government team by a lone goal.

Apart from the giant trophy to the champion,  they also went home  with one million naira while second and third placed teams got N750,000 and N500,000.  The fourth team also won N250,000.  Moses Abraham emerged highest goalscorer with eight goals while Jonathan Olateju of Ikenne local government team was named the most valuable player.  The best coach was from Sagamu local government team and Adoodo  local government team was voted the fair play team.
