The Super Eagles defender led the Arabs to a fourth place finish in the Norwegian league before ending his loan move from Gent
William Troost-Ekong has ended his loan spell with Norwegian club Haugesund after leading them to a fourth place finish in the Nowegian topflight league.
The 23-year old defender was not in action for the Haugesund Stadium outfit as they held Stroemsgodset to a 1-1 draw at home on Sunday evening to guarantee their Europa league ticket for next season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth player took to his Instagram page to appreciate Haugesund’s support as waved the club goodbye.
“FK Haugesund it has been an amazing year. Top 4 finish and Europa League next season!,” Troost-Ekong posted on Instagram.
“I want to say a big thank you to my teammates, staff and of course all the fans! I couldn’t be more proud to have been captain of such a great club. All good things come to an end but I will never forget my time here in Norway. Tusen Takk! William.”
