We won’t owe our players—Remo Stars boss

Chairman of Remo Stars, a Nigeria Professional Football League side, Kunle Soname has vowed that the management of the club will not owe their players their entitlements.

Soname, while speaking with sports journalists at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, made the declaration.

“The country’s systemic cheating has refused clubs to pay player’s salaries, wages and incentives considering the fact that they are still compelled to play without getting their pays.

“Our management will never owe any player salaries or any monetary reward due to them because the players are the actors of the footballing industry.

“We will motivate the actors in order to get them for a job well done in the course of the upcoming games in the NPFL.”

He also pleaded with all stakeholders in the country to contribute positively to take Nigerian football to greater heights.

Meanwhile, the management of Surulere Clinics’ X-ray centre Limited of Lagos State has pledged its support for the newly-promoted NPFL side.

The X-Ray Centre handled the Electrocardiogram. (ECG) and the Echocardiography medical exercise for the players as directed by the League Management Company (LMC), the organisers of the NPFL.

The Managining Director of the centre, Dr Babajide Shonuga, says he and the management are in full support of the club and they are quite optimistic that the club will do well in the ongoing league season.

“We are using this great opportunity to give our 100 per cent support to Remo Stars and we are quite optimistic that the club will perform well,” Shonuga said.

“We have seen future stars in this set of players, the unity and friendliness between this young lads will make them go far in all ramifications.”

Doctor Ibe Martins in his remarks said “I have been a secret fan of the club overtime and I feel this is an opportunity for me to show my love for the players and the club.

“The players are relatively young and I am sure they will shock many big teams in the NPFL once the competition begin.”
