Earlier this year, reports claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would not accept any bids lower than £300 million for Kane in an attempt to ward off interest from Manchester United and Madrid.

And according to AS, Madrid are no longer looking to pursue Kane this summer, despite being in the market for a new world-class striker.

The report claims that Madrid have been put off by Spurs’ hefty valuation of the England international and also have doubts over the player’s ability to fit in the squad due to his ‘introverted nature’.

Kane, meanwhile, denied reports in January that he was ready to sign a new £200,000-a-week contract with Tottenham.

The striker’s current deal with Spurs ends in 2022.

Kane is missing the current international break through injury after damaging his ankle ligaments in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth earlier this month.

The England international is expected to return to training with Spurs next month, but could miss key fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City.
