Arrangements have been concluded by the management of Plateau United to play its CAF Confederation Cup home match at the Soccer Temple; Agege Stadium.
The team will take on USM Algiers FC in the CAF Cup play off this Saturday after it has been established that its home field was not acceptable for continental assignment.
Disclosing this to Tribunesport Monday by WhatsApp chat was the Special Assistant to Lagos State governor on Sport Facilities, Bolaji Yusuf who described this development as testimony to the vision and mission of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to make Lagos state sport hub not only in Nigeria but Africa.
It would be recalled that the sport living governor had released money for the upgrading of the stadium to its enviable and magnificent status to host MFM FC Champions League matches and was supervised by the S.A Facilities.
Yusuf further during chat assures that the Management and players of Plateau United will not regret playing their CAF Cup Play Offs in Lagos saying all necessary things needed to make the Jos based team feel at home would be made available.
“This is a good development for sport in the state and it will show that the huge amount of money expended on the upgrading of the stadium by the governor was not a waste.
This also shows that other teams can use the facility as it will showcase the rich sport culture of Lagos State,” he said during the chat.
