Ikorodu City FC defeated G-12 FC 1-0 on Sunday to win the 2026 Lagos Federation Cup title.
The final was played at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, before an enthusiastic crowd in Lagos.
The decisive goal arrived in the 76th minute through captain Tosin Oyedokun, whose long-range effort beat the G-12 goalkeeper.
G-12 coach Olusanjo Olutayo admitted disappointment after the narrow defeat.
“We believed we could win, but our attention now shifts to Wednesday’s National Federation Cup.
“We fought hard and gave everything, but their quality showed. Facing a top league side was always difficult.
“Fatigue also affected us. We have played many matches recently and perhaps needed to manage possession better,” he said.

Ikorodu City coach Bright Ozebagbe praised his players for their discipline and commitment.
“Winning means a lot. The players deserve the credit because we must keep representing our club and Lagos positively.
“Every match brings different challenges. Our responsibility is to execute our plans and keep improving.
“Our target now is to surpass what we achieved in last year’s National Federation Cup,” he said.
Lagos State Football Association chairman, Gafar Liameed, described the final as encouraging for grassroots football.
“This was a competitive final, but we will keep improving and aim to stage one of the best FA Cups,” he said.
Liameed praised G-12’s remarkable run, noting victories over Inter Lagos and Sporting Lagos.
“I admire underdogs. G-12 showed patience, discipline and courage throughout the competition,” he added.
The victory gives Ikorodu City their third Lagos Federation Cup title since the club’s formation in 2022.
The club previously won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, while reaching at least the semi-finals in every appearance.
