England moved to within one victory of their first men’s FIFA World Cup final since 1966 after Jude Bellingham scored twice in a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in their quarter-final in Miami.
Thomas Tuchel’s side came from behind to book a place in the semi-finals, where they will face either Argentina or Switzerland.
Norway took the lead in the 36th minute when Andreas Schjelderup’s dipping effort beat England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
England responded in first-half stoppage time through Bellingham, who collected Anthony Gordon’s pass in stride before finishing confidently past Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland to level the match.
Tuchel made two changes at half-time, replacing Declan Rice, who had been struggling with illness and injury, and Noni Madueke with Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka.
Norway came close to restoring their advantage after the break. Torbjorn Heggem had a goal ruled out after Erling Haaland was penalised for pushing Elliot Anderson in the build-up, while David Moller Wolfe struck the crossbar with a header.

Haaland was largely kept quiet by England’s defence and was substituted at half-time in extra time.
Bellingham produced the decisive moment three minutes into the additional period, reacting quickest after Nyland could only parry substitute Morgan Rogers’ shot and firing home the rebound.
The victory sends England into their third World Cup semi-final since lifting the Jules Rimet Trophy in 1966. They previously fell at that stage to West Germany in 1990 and Croatia in 2018 and will now bid to reach the World Cup final for the first time in six decades.
