Bournemouth midfielder, Alex Scott, has rejected a new contract offer from the club, raising fresh uncertainty over his future as several Premier League sides continue to monitor the England Under-21 international.
The Cherries had made securing Scott to a new long-term deal one of their priorities this summer, but negotiations have yet to produce an agreement.
The 22-year-old is attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea, with clubs closely following developments over his contract situation.
Scott still has two years remaining on the contract he signed after joining Bournemouth from Championship side Bristol City in 2023 in a deal worth £25 million.
Despite the remaining length of his contract, Bournemouth now face renewed questions over whether they can retain one of their most highly rated young players if interest from rival clubs intensifies.
Scott’s stock has continued to rise over the past year.

He earned his first England senior squad call-up in November before being included in Thomas Tuchel’s extended pre-2026 FIFA World Cup training camp in Florida. However, he is yet to make his senior international debut.
At club level, Scott played a key role as Bournemouth finished sixth in the Premier League in the 2025-26 season under manager Andoni Iraola, securing qualification for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the club’s history.
He has made 89 appearances for Bournemouth across all competitions, scoring six goals since arriving on the south coast.
Scott’s contract situation comes during an active transfer window for Premier League midfielders.
Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is set to join Manchester City in a deal worth £116 million, while Morgan Rogers is expected to complete a £117 million move from Aston Villa to Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur have also strengthened their midfield by signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United for £100 million and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United for £85 million.
Scott began his senior career with Guernsey FC before joining Bristol City in 2020.
He made 91 appearances for the Championship club and was named the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season in the 2022-23 campaign before earning his move to Bournemouth.
His development has made him one of England’s most sought-after young midfielders, with Bournemouth now facing a significant challenge to convince him to commit his long-term future to the club.
