Abia Comets warn Rangers on illegal transfer of Ibrahim Yusuf

The management of Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Abia Comets has issued a note of warning to former  Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enugu Rangers International Football Club over an illegal transfer of their player Ibrahim Yusuf.

Abia Comets via a letter signed by the club President Victor Nwakawa, a copy which was made available to the media by the club secretary Ezindu Hyacinth, made some clarifications about the player in question.

The letter reads: The attention of the managements of Abia Comets F.C. Umuahia have been drawn to publications on the above subject as it concerns Ibrahim Yusuf and wishes to make the following clarifications.

.That Ibrahim Yusuf was a registered player of Abia Comets F.C. Umuahia via a clearance letter from Nasarawa United F.C. dated 21-04-17.

.That Abia Comets F.C. Umuahia entered into an agreement with Ibrahim Yusuf to play for the club in the second stanza of the Bet9ja NNL 2016/17 season.

.That Ibrahim Yusuf was placed on a monthly salary of Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00).

.That Ibrahim Yusuf was paid his salary all through the period.

.That Abia Comets F.C. Umuahia is surprised to read that a club as experienced as Rangers International F.C. of Enugu could register Ibrahim Yusuf without recourse to the last club he played for, which is Abia Comets F.C.

This action negates all extant rules of football hence, the management of Abia Comets F.C Umuahia is advising Rangers International F.C. of Enugu to in the interest of the game and the player, approach Abia Comets F.C Umuahia for the proper clearance of Ibrahim Yusuf.
