Adeyinka Adeboye hails NSC, urges new Federation boards to deliver results

Nigeria’s Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Adeboye, has praised the National Sports Commission (NSC) for conducting what he described as one of the most credible and transparent sports federation elections in recent history.

The election, which produced new Presidents and Board members across 18 national sports federations, was followed by an inauguration ceremony at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

Adeboye, who spoke with Sporting Tribune via telephone chat on Monday, lauded NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, for their visionary leadership, commitment to reform, and insistence on accountability and transparency.

“The success of these elections marks a new era for Nigerian sports. The NSC leadership deserves commendation for restoring integrity, confidence, and fairness in our sports administration,” Adeboye said.

He described the new board members as “torchbearers of transformation” and charged them to show leadership, innovation, and genuine passion for the development of Nigerian sports.

“This is not the time for politics or complacency. It’s time to get to work, to turn our federations into engines of excellence and progress. The nation is watching, and history will remember those who deliver,” he declared.

Adeboye also hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for youth and sports development, emphasising that the administration remains committed to using sports as a tool for unity, empowerment, and economic growth.

He urged the newly elected sports leaders to build stronger grassroots structures, nurture talent, and ensure accountability at every level.

“Let us move forward together. With passion, integrity, and focus, Nigerian sports will rise again,” Adeboye concluded.
