The Super Eagles camp in Lagos is bustling with excitement as 19 players have assembled ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.
Leading the charge is vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, accompanied by Ademola Lookman, the free-scoring forward from Atalanta.
Joining the ranks are Joe Aribo from Southampton and Alex Iwobi from Everton. The defence has been reinforced with the arrivals of Calvin Bassey from Ajax and Semi Ajayi from West Brom. Also, Hoffenheim’s Kevin Akpoguma has arrived from Germany.

As the hours pass, more players are arriving at the camp, heightening the anticipation for the upcoming match.

Ebube Duru, along with goalkeepers Victor Sochima and Olorunleke Ojo, have reported for national team duty after their demanding NPFL Super 6 playoff match for Enyimba against Rivers United.
Ojo, who displayed an exceptional performance between the sticks for Enyimba, played a pivotal role in securing a 1-1 draw against Rivers United, a match where Duru and Sochima were in the opposing team’s starting lineup. This draw ultimately sealed Enyimba’s title as the 2023 NPFL champions.

Former Golden Eaglets star, Divine Nwachukwu, one of the four home-based players called up, has also arrived at the camp.
The camp has also witnessed the arrival of renowned names, including Kenneth Omeruo, a key figure in the Super Eagles’ triumphant 2013 African campaign. Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, the dynamic duo from Leicester City, and Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest have also arrived in camp.
Other stars present include Moses Simon (Nantes), Adebayo Adeleye representing Israel, Frank Onyeka (Brentford), and Bright Osayi-Samuel fresh off his Turkish Cup victory with Fenerbahce.
However, the much-anticipated arrival of Serie A winner and Capocannoniere Victor Osimhen is still pending.
Alongside Osimhen, Super Eagles fans eagerly await the arrivals of Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal, Zaidu Sanusi, the marauding full-back from Porto, and Eagles captain Ahmed Musa.
