AFCON: There is no stopping Nigeria — Deputy Speaker Kalu

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu has declared that Nigeria is unstoppable in a bid to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) currently ongoing in Côte d’Ivoire.

Kalu made the declaration after the Super Eagles of Nigeria, on Friday beat the Black Sable Antelopes of Angola by 1-0 in the Quarter Finals of the biggest African football fiesta to qualify for the semi-final.

The Deputy Speaker who was a member of the National Assembly delegation to Angola led by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio in solidarity with the Super Eagles said that the coast is now clear for Nigeria to reach the finals and lift the trophy.

Congratulating the team, Kalu hailed the indomitable spirit of the players and the entire technical crew, saying they have spread joy and elicited excitement in Nigerians across all regions and ethnic backgrounds.

He enjoined the team to remain focused on winning the trophy, assuring them of National Assembly support.
