The ex-international has warned the Super Eagles to be careful ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against the Greens in Uyo on Saturday.
Former Nigeria international, Edema Fuludu has insisted that Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria will be tough.
The Super Eagles kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win over Zambia in October, and the Tunisia ’94 African Cup of Nations winner says the Greens are already motivated with the arrival of their new coach, and they will explore the weaknesses in the coach Gernot Rohr’s side.
“I have said before that the game is going to be a tough one, but, since the boys are already in camp, apart from one or two injuries,” Edema told Goal.
“The Algerians are already boosted psychologically because they have a new coach, just like when we had ours, team spirit grew and there was a good injection of winning mentality.
“So we should be wary about our weak defense unless something will be done overnight, but we must attack the Algerians and I believe that when we win this match, we are already very close to Russia 2018.
“The technical adviser has gone round to monitor what is happening in Europe with the players, but I must tell you that we have good players in the striking department, but in the current form, Moses, Iwobi and Iheanacho should start.
“So if he is playing a 4-3-3 formation, these are the guys will be upfront, but if he is using another formation entirely, where he thinks he can put three top strikers and one behind them, then, Ighalo can bully the opponent upfront, while Iheanacho and Iwobi who I think are more skillful can come behind him and Moses will do the damage from the right.
“So it’s possible, the man has alternatives, but for me, I will put Moses, Iheanacho and Iwobi upfront.
“We have not adapted our game to a 3-5-2 formations, and so if Moses can do it well from that position, what about the other players, will they be able to cover as at when due?
“So, I believe if he wants to play Moses, he will not adapt to the Chelsea system, Moses has to adapt to the Nigerian formation, and he can use the energy he uses to run from the beginning of Chelsea’s field to the end exclusively for our attacking play, there will be a lot of damage we will do to the Algerian defense, and I hope he will be in that top form for Nigeria,” he concluded
