Birmingham 2022: Para Table Tennis Federation releases funds for equipment

The leadership of para Table Federation has released funds for equipments meant for use at the ongoing Para Table Tennis as event start today at National Exhibition Centre.

Information made available to Sportingtribune on Tuesday morning revealed that the sum of N2.4million was handed over to the coach on Monday night.

The funds which came in two separate cheque of 1.8m and N600,000 respectively will be used to buy equipment for the events that start tomorrow.

It was gathered that the Ministry of Youths and Sports has released the sum of 14.5m to the Federation long ago to purchase equipments and this was not peculiar to para Table alone but all the participating Federations.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has been grouped into group one in the wheelchair Class 3-5 women along with India, Australia and Fiji and in group 2 for men along with England, India, Australia and Fiji.

Faith Obazuaya will represent Nigeria in C4 Standing 6-10 for women while Alabi Olabiyi Olufemi and Taju Agunbiade will participate in Standing Class Men 8-10.
