Carlo Ancelotti’s men continue to slip up as they surrender lead twice

The Bundesliga champions remain winless in three games as they’re lead at the top of the table is cut to two points

BAYERN MUNICH’s mini-slump continues as they fail to win in three games with Marco Fabian grabbing a late equaliser at the Commerzbank-Arena.

The away side twice led through Arjen Robben and Josua Kimmich, but the ten-men of Eintracht Frankfurt battled back for a point that cuts the gap at the top of the table.

Arjen Robben shrugged off injury concerns that he was too unfit to start with a smart finish in the 10th minute, taking David Alaba’s low cross in his stride before lashing the ball off the far post from a tight angle.

The warning signs for Manuel Neuer to be beaten were there, and just before half-time Szabolcs Huszti powered home an equaliser with his left foot, proving too hot to handle for the German stopper.

Carlo Ancelotti chose to start supreme striker Robert Lewandowski on the bench, and it was also a first start together for the centre-back pairing of Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels.

Bayern came into the game fresh off a 1-1 draw at home to Cologne before the international break, and lost 1-0 away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League prior to that.

But midway through the second-half Joshua Kimmich scored for the third consecutive Bundesliga match, cooly slotting in from inside the penalty area.

Frankfurt were then reduced to ten-men after Huszti was sent off for two yellow cards, and in the 78th minute, Marco Fabian bundled home the equaliser with his chest.

Ancelotti’s lead at the top is cut to just two points, with pressure on his Bavarian managerial position starting to creep in.
