Nigeria’s Super Eagles have maintained their 26th position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday.
The team also stays third in Africa, behind Morocco and Senegal, with Algeria and Egypt completing the continent’s top five.
The ranking reflects a mixed run of recent results under head coach Eric Chelle.

Super Eagles picked up wins against Zimbabwe and Jamaica in friendly matches but were held to a draw by Poland before losing narrowly to Portugal.
At the global level, reigning world champions, Argentina remain top of the rankings as Spain stay in second place, while France remain third after a series of mixed results in their latest matches.
England and Portugal complete the top five, with Brazil in sixth position.
Morocco remain Africa’s highest-ranked team, sitting seventh in the world and continuing their rise in international football.
The rankings come as attention builds toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The expanded tournament will feature 48 teams for the first time.
