The Captain of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), Seyi Alaba, has described Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, as the best-performing governor in Nigeria, praising his remarkable achievements in governance, infrastructure, and sports development.
Alaba made this assertion during a golf tournament organised as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Oyo State, held at the Ibadan Golf Club, Onireke, Ibadan, over the weekend.
Speaking at the event, the IGC Captain lauded Governor Makinde’s leadership style, noting that his administration has delivered visible and impactful projects across the state over the last six years.
According to Alaba, the governor’s achievements reflect purposeful leadership and a clear vision for the development of Oyo State.

“Looking at what Governor Seyi Makinde has achieved in Oyo State, I can confidently say he deserves 100 percent recognition. In terms of performance, delivery of projects, and people-centred governance, he stands out as the best governor in Nigeria today,” Alaba said.
He particularly highlighted the governor’s investments in sports and infrastructure, describing them as critical drivers of youth development and economic growth.
“From road construction and urban renewal to sports development, Governor Makinde has shown uncommon commitment. Sports infrastructure in the state has improved significantly, and this has created opportunities for young talents while promoting unity and healthy living.
“What we are seeing in Oyo State today is the result of focused leadership. Governor Makinde has demonstrated that with transparency, accountability, and dedication, government can truly work for the people,” he added..
The golf tournament, which attracted golfers, government officials, and other stakeholders, formed part of the activities lined up to celebrate Oyo State at 50.
