HAJAIG Ali of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), on Sunday clinched his major title when he won the Captain’s Day golf tournament held at IGC, Onireke, Ibadan, last weekend.
The tournament was organised to mark his stewardship of immediate Captain of IGC, Mr Olumide Oyediran.
Hajaig won the tournament after he played the Net score of 66 and 81 Gross ahead of a veteran player, Seye Omisore who is 81 years plus.
Omisore, playing 13 handicaps played 81 Gross and Net the score of 68 while Peter Oyasor finished as second runner up with 82 Gross.

Grace Brown won the Ladies Best Net while former Tiger Golf Club Lady Captain, Oyinlola Omajuwa claimed the runner up Net.
In his remarks said “I feel great for emerging as the winner of this competition because I have been playing golf for five years now and I feel today (Saturday), I have done something. Though I have won four trophies to my credit above all, this is the best.
“I believe, this laurel will give me a push to do better before the year runs out, I look forward to playing better because my main target was to play single handicap from 13 handicaps.
Earlier in his speech, Oyediran said he was delighted to have served as IGC Captain saying it has been a truly fulfilling experience and he’s grateful for having been given the opportunity to hold the position.

“At the start of my tenure, my main objective was to provide steady and sustainable improvements to the club that could be built upon in future. I thank God that I was able to achieve this through various initiatives”.
Meanwhile, present Captain of the Club, Col. Ade Sunmonu (retd) said: “It’s great privilege and honour to serve as the chairman of the organising committee of the Captain’s Day 2019 tournament, it gives me such a great pleasure in honour of the outgoing Captain, Mr Olumide Oyediran.”
