Head Coach of Nigerian champions Plateau United, Kennedy Boboye, who is fresh from Yaounde, Cameroon, has revealed that it was a sour experience for him after he was harassed by fans of the CAF Champions League opponents, Eding Sports Club of Cameroon.
Speaking exclusively to AOIFootball.com in Abuja, Boboye explained that he was in Cameroon to spy on Eding SC as his team will face them in the first round of this year’s Champions League, but was met with harassment and hostile reception from fans of the club.
“It was a hostile reception in Cameroon. It clearly showed me what to expect when we play the team in the return leg as we will host them first. I was watching a friendly game involving the team and another Cameroonian team. I was sitting quietly among the fans, only for about three guys to meet me, seized my phones and slapped me while throwing series of questions at me. I was later saved by some Nigerians around that area,” Boboye said.
The Plateau United gaffer, however revealed he has seen the strength of the side and will work what he found out in his spy mission, while hoping his team will follow instructions and explore the weaknesses of the team.
Plateau United host Eding Sports Club of Cameroon in the first leg between February 9-11.
