Hector Bellerin signs SIX year contract worth £30million

Speedy Spanish right-back who was also being eyed for a return to boyhood club Barcelona joins the Gunners’ top earners on over £100,000 per week

Hector Bellerin has signed a £30million SIX-YEAR deal to make him one of Arsenal’s top earners.

Right-back Bellerin has put pen to paper on a deal worth in excess of £100,000-a-week which will net him more than £30m with bonuses and add-ons.

It is a huge boost for the Gunners, who fended off interest in the 21-year-old Spaniard from the players’ former club Barcelona as well as Manchester City.

City boss Pep Guardiola was desperate to get Bellerin and was hoping their shared Barca connections would help, but he has now committed himself to the Londoners.

We revealed last month that Arsene Wenger’s side were making an offer, and it is understood Bellerin was so keen that a deal was agreed within four days.

Arsenal will now look to tie down midfielder Mesut Ozil and forward Alexis Sanchez on similar long-term deals.

Ozil, 28, and 27-year-old Sanchez are into the final two years of their contracts, and talks have begun on both.

Wenger is hopeful Ozil will sign and it is understood they are close on a contract with the German wanting close to £200,000-a-week on a five-year deal.

Sanchez has also held talks, but it is believed he wants a buy-out clause included in any new agreement.

Wenger’s own deal expires next summer, but the deal with Bellerin and the potential for tying down Ozil suggests the Frenchman is looking beyond that — Arsenal are likely to hand him a two-year extension.
