IGC set to host Rotary International District 9126 DG’s Cup golf tournament

Stage is set for the inaugural edition of the District 9126 Governor’s (DG) Cup golf tournament scheduled for Thursday, June 12 at Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), Onireke, Ibadan.

The tournament was organised by Rotarian Golfers at District 9126 in partnership with IGC and International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians Nigeria.

According to IGC Captain, Mr Seyi Alaba disclosed that the one-day tournament promising to be exciting event for golf enthusiasts and participants.

Alaba, who is also a Rotarian said the aims of the tournament is to bring together golfers from various districts to compete for the coveted DG’s Cup.

Alaba said he’s optimistic that DG Cup promises to deliver an unforgettable experience just as he assures hitch-free tournament.

He said “Participants can expect a well-organised event featuring a range of activities, networking opportunities and golf clinics for Rotarians who are not golfers.

The DG Cup not only serves as a platform for showcasing golfing talent but also aims to foster camaraderie among participants.

“There prizes for winners in various categories, the DG Cup is set to become a highlight on the local golfing calendar.”

In their seperate remarks, Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC), Rotarian Kayode Adelekun and LOC Secretary, Rotarian Wale Shittu said the tournament brings together Rotarians from across their district for a day of golf, camaraderie, and fellowship.

“The main purpose of the event is to promote Rotary fellowship and raise awareness about Rotary’s service initiatives to non Rotarians.

“We are excited about the opportunity to host this event at Ibadan Golf Club.”

The tee-off time is 7:00am while golf clinics will hold at 9:00am and the closing is scheduled for 5:00pm same day.
