Ikorodu City FA emerged champions of the 1xCup 2025 after defeating ISAGT 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
The victory cemented their status as the tournament’s most formidable defensive side and earned them a ₦10m prize.
ISAGT, who narrowly missed out on the title after a crucial defensive lapse in the 72nd minute, secured the runner-up spot and ₦5m in winnings.
Earlier in the day, Dosu Joseph FC claimed third place with a determined 2-1 comeback win over Nath Boys FA, pocketing ₦3m.
Nath Boys struck first in the 15th minute, but Dosu Joseph FC capitalised on their opponent’s errors with two quick goals early in the second half, sealing the contest.
The final day capped a spectacular edition of the competition, Nigeria’s largest amateur football tournament.
This year, over 450 teams vied for glory, underscoring the sport’s popularity nationwide.
Individual accolades also highlighted the event. Ikorodu City FA’s Wellington Egor was named Best Coach, Adewale Quadri (Nath Boys FA) earned MVP honors, and Uche Emeribe (Vinmo Energy FA) finished as top scorer.
Additional awards went to standout performers and teams, further enhancing the competitive spirit of the tournament.
1xCup CEO, Alhaji Waheed Akanni lauded the finale, describing the atmosphere as “electrifying,” with the tournament uniting football fans and fostering grassroots sport across the nation.
