Ikpea remains Nigeria football supporters’ authentic chairman — Ladipo

President General, Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), Dr Rafiu Ladipo, has reiterated that Reverend Samuel Ikpea remains the authentic National Chairman of the body.

Ladipo revealed this when he hosted selected journalists in Abidjan on Tuesday.

He said they are in Ivory Coast to support the Super Eagles at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations as part of their contributions to the nation.

“The only recognised national president of NFSC is Reverend Ikpea, and he is directing the affairs of the group.

“We are working tirelessly to see that other factional groups are brought back because all of them belonged to the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) for several years.

“They all left because they want to become chairman, but only one president will be there at a time. We cannot have two presidents for a country or for a club, it’s only one per- son at a time.

“Reverend Samuel Ikpea is our leader in NFSC today and our backbone. Even as President-General, I still go to his office because I’m a man that respects constitution and authority. I visit him to also know what is happening in NFSC and he always explains things to me,” Ladipo said.

Also, Ladipo revealed that the vice president of NFSC, Abidjan branch, Mr Olarotimi Najeem Akinloye has been expelled from the NFSC for anti-party

He said Mr Sunday Alabi Oki is the only president of the NFSC, Côte d’Ivorie chapter.

According to him, Olarotimi has been paraded himself President in Abidjan saying the Nigeria Embassy at Ivory Coast also confirmed it.

Rafiu said Olarotimi took advantage of the current president’s health status as his vice and paraded himself as the president.

“Not only did Olarotimi went to Embassy to lie, he’s also using the name of NFSC with copies of letter that you don’t belong to this group, you belong to another group, I will not mention names,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ikpea has called on Nigerians in the diaspora to always offer their best to support the Super Eagles, saying they [football supporters] are in Cote d’Ivorie to give the national team maximum support.
