All is set for an epic final of the 2022 Peller Unity Cup (PUC) as Iseyin City face Iseyin United for the star prize at stake.
Iseyin City defeated Itesiwaju Lions 3-1 at OYSADEP stadium Saki, area of Oyo State on Wednesday to book a place in the final, while Iseyin United beat Itesiwaju Rangers 2-0 in the second semi-final played at Basega Stadium, Ago-Are.
Speaking at the venue, initiator of the competition, Honourable Shina Peller, a member of the House of Representatives, representing lseyin/ltesiwaju/ Kajola/lwajowa Federal Constituency lauded all the semi-finalists for their gallantry in the competition.

It will be recalled that 10 local government areas in the Oke-Ogun axis namely: Olorunsogo, Itesiwaju, Irepo, Olorunsogo, Saki East, Orelope, Kajola, Iwajowa, Iseyin, and Saki West feature in the tournament.
Peller noted that the purpose of the competition has been achieved through unity, love, and youth empowerment.
“Fortunately, we have two teams each from Iseyin and Itesiwaju local government areas. I believe the semi-finalists deserved to be at this stage; they put in their best and it paid off. It was a coincidence and it makes football more beautiful.
“At the beginning, I told the organisers that 10 local governments are all my favourites and I want the best and I give kudos to the organisers for a job well done
“Expect a good final as we have strong teams in the final of this year’s competition and this is a huge success to me. These two teams will entertain us in the final.

“We already have two players who have been spotted by scouts and have been asked to report for further training.
“The final will come after Ramadan fasting because we want it to be a well-planned final. We thank God that at least youths in the Oke-Ogun axis have been engaged meaningfully for the past one month through this sporting activity.
“Peller Unity Cup is designed to engage the youth meaningfully and also promote unity in these diverse communities,” he said.
