Iwobi is Arsenal’s new assist hero

The 20-year-old Nigeria international has made more assists in 2016 than any other player in the Gunners squad, with three coming in as many games this term.

In carving out the most chances for his side, Mesut Ozil is generally seen as Arsenal’s most important creative player.

But with no assists after four Premier League games for the Gunners, the German has had no direct effect this season other than his solitary goal.

Luckily for Arsene Wenger, though, another player has stepped up to make the difference in that respect: Alex Iwobi.

The 20-year-old Nigeria international has been key not only this term but throughout 2016, having made five assists in the league this calendar year – more than any other Arsenal player.

Three of Iwobi’s assists game this season, despite the winger playing just three league games.
