Iwobi Everton decision good ―Phil Neville

Manchester United legend, Phil Neville believes Alex Iwobi is ‘a bigger fish in a smaller pond’ following his deadline day move from Arsenal to Everton.

The England women’s head coach underlined that the Nigeria international has all the qualities needed to succeed at Everton, with whom he signed a five-year contract in August.

Iwobi’s 35 million pounds transfer to the Toffees is paying off for club and player, with the winger scoring two goals in his last three starts in all competitions.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Phil Neville said: ”I think it’s good, Iwobi moved out of Arsenal. He got the qualities to play for Arsenal without a shadow of a doubt.

”He is that type of ‘top six player’ with the qualities that he has got but sometimes you’ve got to take a step back and go into a club like Everton where you are a bigger fish in a smaller pond and he can deliver.

”People look at you to win games and I think, we will see now the true Iwobi. His stature and qualities will suit Everton”.

In Everton’s most recent game against AFC Bournemouth, Iwobi operated as an attacking midfielder for the last 20 minutes, after Gylfi Sigurdsson was replaced by Moise Kean.
