James Rodriguez has revealed he wants to join Bayern Munich on a permanent basis once his loan spell from Real Madrid is up.
The Bavarians snapped up Rodriguez on a two-year loan deal last summer, and following a slow start to life at the Allianz Arena, is now enjoying life in Munich.
So much so, the Colombian is hoping that Bayern will become his permanent home at some point in the future. Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes was the difference and his improvement in form coincided with his arrival after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
Heynckes steps aside at the end of this season, but as far as Rodriguez is concerned, he would still be happy to stay beyond the end of next season.
Speaking after Bayern’s 3-1 win over relegated Cologne at the weekend, James told reporters: “I’m doing very well, it’s a good league in Germany and the stadiums are packed. I arrived with a different perception.
When pressed further about his future plans he added: “I’m feeling good. I hope that I will stay here. I’m very happy.”
