Jurgen Klopp: This is what I thought of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea

JURGEN KLOPP has offered his thoughts on Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Dejan Lovren gave his side the lead on 17 minutes, volleying home from close-range.

And under-pressure Reds captain Jordan Henderson was on hand 20 minutes later to fire in a sublime strike from 30 yards.

Chelsea star Diego Costa reduced the deficit on the hour mark, but Klopp’s side were able to hold on for the three points.

Now the Liverpool boss has given his take on the victory, which leaves his team fourth in the Premier League heading into the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.

“It was satisfying of course. From the first second we had unbelievably good movement,” he said.

“We were quick in mind. We did really well. We deserved the lead at half-time.

“We have to learn how to manage the game plan. So often this season Chelsea scored in the last few seconds with a direct style. But I can’t remember too many chances from them.

“We had a few moments where we weren’t so good but that’s normal against a good team.

“We played football like hell. It was really nice to watch. In the second half it was a bit more difficult. After their goal, we managed it well.”

Next up for Liverpool is Tuesday night’s EFL Cup clash with Derby.
