Massimiliano Allegri
Massimiliano Allegri has slammed his Juventus side for giving up in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home against Genoa.
Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 400 goals in Europe’s top-five leagues when opening the scoring on the 18th minute and the defending champions looked comfortable as they went in at the break 1-0 ahead.
However, Genoa didn’t give up and they managed to get back on level terms when Brazilian midfielder Daniel Bessa found the back of the net on the 67th minute, giving his side a share of the spoils.
It was a disappointing return to domestic action for the Old Lady following the international break and Allegri refused to let his players off the hook after losing their 100 per cent record.

“Supposedly, we were kind of invincible but, in fact, when there were only 30 minutes to be played, we sort of abandoned the match,” he told reporters.
“Of course, this was a match played after the break for the friendlies, Genoa were very strong physically but I cannot accept those kinds of things when there are only 30 minutes left to play. That’s not acceptable, but we’ll have to sort these problems out.”
