Technical Adviser of Katsina United, Azeez Mohammed, says rebuilding his squad following the departure of several key players has been one of the major challenges facing his team this season.
The tactician revealed that the team lost several important players from last season, including their leading goalscorer, Uche Collins, and Azeez Falolu, leaving him with a largely new squad that requires time to gel.
“We lost the highest goalscorer in our team last season, and one of the highest goalscorers in the league.
“We also lost so many important players like Azeez Falolu and the rest. So now, it’s a new team entirely.
“If you look at the team, a large number of the players are new. So, you don’t expect too much from these kinds of players immediately,” Mohammed said.

Despite the transition, Mohammed expressed confidence that the team would improve as the new players gain momentum and become more familiar with one another.
“But the moment they get the momentum, they will surely give us what we want.
“The most important thing is to win the game. If it’s one goal we get, let’s keep the point because the point is more important.
“We can score three and they score four; we did not do anything. But if we score one and they do not equalise, it’s three points,” he added.
