Kepa Arrizabalaga loving life at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga says he is handling being the world’s most expensive stopper and is enjoying life in England.

He moved to Stamford Bridge from Athletic Bilbao for £72million in the summer after Thibaut Courtois joined Real Madrid, with uncertainty over whether he was good enough or could justify a record fee.

However the 24-year-old Spaniard has impressed in Chelsea’s unbeaten Premier League start, and says he already feels at home despite the challenges of adjusting to English football.

Arrizabalaga told the Chelsea club website: ‘The Premier League and La Liga are very different. The style of play is different, the person training me is different, everything is different and new.

“But all in all, so far I feel very happy. I think I’m adapting very well to being in the team, which is the most important thing, and I’m really looking forward to spending a long time in the Premier League with Chelsea.”

He was produced by the Bilbao academy, and had looked set for another season as No 1 at his boyhood club before Chelsea’s last minute move just before the transfer deadline.
