The club won the final game by defeating Lyngdal FC of Norway by 3 goals to 0 on Saturday at the Nord Energy Arena Stadium in the sports city of Hjørring, Denmark.
This was contained in a press statement issued on Sunday to sports writers in Gombe by the media manager of Mailantarki Care FC, Adamu Usman Ahmed.
He wrote that the outstanding player of the team, Miko Dalha exhibited startling display from the start of the tourney through to the finals as he scored a brace to emerge the highest goal scorer of the championship with 8 goals
According to him, “Another promising forward, ex-Nigerian U-17 National team forward, Tijjani Mohammed stole the show-off Miko Dalha despite being introduced in the second half, the powerful young star produced an immediate by dribbling past two of his markers deep inside box before slotting home to increase Mailantarki’s lead.
“The forward put the icing on the cake with an assist that helped Miko snatch his second goal, the performance that earned him the best player’s award.
“Lyngdal FC players were unable to respond throughout the entire duration of the game as the Light Boys completed a double on two Norwegian teams after beating Vidar FK in the 2022 final.”
Ahmed added that Mailantarki Care FC, being the 2024 Dana Cup Champions, will now proceed to Oslo for the 2024 Norway Cup, kicking off on Sunday (28th July 2024), expressing confidence that the team is favourites to win the double, the same feat achieved in 2022, which earned Mailantarki Care FC the slogan ‘Double Champions’.
