City have now just won twice in their last nine games as Etihad is left stunned by last-gasp effort

MARTEN DE ROON grabbed a dramatic late equaliser for Middlesbrough against Manchester City, leaving Pep Guardiola with just two wins in his last nine matches..

Sergio Aguero had given City the lead with a fine strike in the first half.

But De Roon left the Etihad stunned when he pounced in added time to prevent Pep Guardiola’s men from taking a three-point lead in the race for the title.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and David Silva failed to find the back of the net as City recorded almost six times as many shots as the visitors.

Aguero fired home just before half-time after latching onto a cross from De Bruyne, leaving Victor Valdes stranded.

Boro rarely threatened Claudio Bravo down the other end, with Stewart Downing and Alvaro Negredo having the best chances for Aitor Karanka’s side.

But De Roon punished City for not finished the game off sooner as he met George Friend’s deep cross to send the travelling fans wild.
