Marouane Fellaini: Manchester United going through ‘little crisis’

Marouane Fellaini has acknowledged that Manchester United are enduring “a little crisis” after suffering three successive defeats.

United were beaten 3-1 by Watford on Sunday — a result that followed on from the disappointing losses to Manchester City and Feyenoord.

“It’s a little crisis, you could say, because Manchester United cannot lose three games,” Fellaini is quoted as saying by SFR. “But we have to lift our heads. It’s still early, it’s the start of the season still. We haven’t even played 10 games yet, but we absolutely have to win.”

United now find themselves down in seventh place in the Premier League table and are already six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford had started smoothly with three successive victories in the league, but he has since suffered three straight defeats for the first time in a decade as a manager.

“We have made a very good start to the season,” Fellaini said. “We’re having a little dip right now, we’re a little bit down on what we did before. But we have to lift ourselves and give everything for the upcoming game [against Northampton Town in the EFL Cup].

“For the moment, it’s a bad time we’re going through. We have to lift our heads up and go forward. There’s the next game in the EFL Cup and we absolutely have to win so our confidence comes back.”
