Milan want €40m for Bonucci

Milan are reportedly open to selling Leonardo Bonucci this summer, but Paris Saint-Germain would have to pay €40m.

The Rossoneri captain is being increasingly linked with an exit, just 12 months after he signed from Juventus for €42m.

His agent Alessandro Lucci is thought to have met with PSG already, while the Diavolo need to sell players to fund their summer transfer campaign.

Now calciomercato.com is reporting that Bonucci’s departure is being seriously considered, with Milan asking for a figure close to €40m.

That would get Bonucci’s wages – which with bonuses can reach up to €10m per season – off the books, as well as bringing in money for summer transfers.

While the Rossoneri paid €42m for the centre-back, clubs break down the cost of a transfer over the length of a contract, and they’d save four seasons worth of wages.

That means the Diavolo could still record a profit on Bonucci, as they’d also offset the cost of the latter two instalments due to Juventus.
