NFF can’t dictate to Supporters Club ―Ladipo

President General of the Nigeria Football and other sports Supporters Club (NFSC), Dr Rafiu Ladipo has called on the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), not to interfere in the activities of the Club.

He made this known while speaking with Tribunesport on Tuesday in Ibadan, after his visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

“Supporters Club are not being funded by the NFF, the club is not a property of NFF. It is an established fact that Supporters Club have worked with several NFA and NFF boards from the time of Sunday Dankaro, Mike Okwechime, Emeka Omeruah, John Obakpolor, Ibrahim Galadima, Sani Lulu, Aminu Maigari, Amos Adamu, Fanny Amun, Taiwo Ogunjobi, Bolaji Ojo-Oba and they all maintained cordial relationship with us. They did not interfere in the running of the club because the football federation don’t fund the club.

“Therefore, the present NFF board should also maintain the position of the previous boards. I’m happy that Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, a lawyer and the first vice president of the current NFF board has made it clear that Supporters Club is an NGO. So, it is not the business of the NFF to tell us who should lead us,” Ladipo stated.

He added that “Supporters Club is not a tribal association, it is not for ethnicity, it is a Nigerian affair, whether you are Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa.”
