Niger Tornadoes release defender Omolayo Ibrahim

The Minna based Nigeria topflight outfit has parted ways with the defender because he is surplus to requirement

Niger Tornadoes have told central defender Omolayo Ibrahim to leave, Goal have been reliably informed.

Omolayo was an important component of the Tornadoes team that gained promotion to the NPFL after a successful 2015 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign.

However,  he was restricted to cameo roles last term in the top flight.

The decision to part ways with the Kwara-born defender could alert a host of top-flight sides in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Meanwhile, Tornadoes have expressed their determination to hold on to Gabriel Wassa.

The exciting defender is on the radar of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Enyimba FC, Rivers United and Sunshine Stars.

Goal sources were made to understand that the management of the Ikon Allah Boys are determined to double the wages of the young lad in order for him to reject the overtures from the NPFL big spenders.
