Wikki Tourists Football Club (FC) Bauchi, beat the visiting Mighty Jets Football Club (FC) of Jos 4-1, on Sunday at the ongoing 2023/2024 Nigeria National League (NNL).
Wikii Tourists maintained its second position in Group C with 29 points from 14 matches.
The match was played at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
However, 25 minutes into the match, Wikki Tourists’ Ahmed Abubakar, scored the first goal and the second in thirty minutes.
Abubakar of Wikki Tourists scored the third goal in 51 minutes through a good shot from 18 into the net of the visiting Mighty Jets.
Awolabi Aremu of Wikki Tourists, however, scored the fourth goal in the 85th minute, through a penalty.
The Mighty Jets got their first goal from a penalty through Orgonye Martins.
Speaking after the match, the coach of Mighty Jets, Ismaila Mabo, said it was a good match between two good teams. “ Though we are not are not lucky”.
“Actually we came to win the match but the tables turned, which is normal, we have to prepare for the next match because I don’t give up easily,” he said.
Wikki Tourists Coach, Mohammed Azeez, said the match was fantastic with 4-1.
“Inspite of the fact that we lost one penalty, we still won four goals. We are going to push harder in the next match.
“We are going to fortify our team and ensure we achieve our aim,” Azeez said.
