No regrets hosting African Minifootball Nations Cup —Ilaji boss

CHIEF Executive Officer, Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Engineer Dotun Sanusi, has said that he has no regrets hosting the ongoing second edition of the African Minifootball Nations Cup in Ibadan.

He stated that accommodating 16 countries at Ilaji was an indication that it can host the World Cup as all the facilities that it requires are on the ground.
“We have invested so much in sporting facilities and our hospitality service is one of the best in the country,” Sanusi told Spotingtribune.com.
Before the tournament kicked off, President, African Minifootball Confederation, Mr Achraf Ben Salha, endorsed Ilaji saying it was well-prepared to host. “This is a very nice place to be, I have visited many countries and I have never seen a magnificent place such as this, I’m very happy to be here. The sporting facilities here are fantastic and we are good to go,” Salha had said.
Sanusi stated that his organisation came in to accommodate and feed the players in the ongoing tournament given the prevailing circumstances.
“The intention of the Nigeria Minifootball Association (NMA) is to hire the facility here at Ilaji but by and large, the financial assistance they expected from the authorities did not come, and that is why we took over the responsibility of taking care of the players and officials because of the image of the country.
“So, Ilaji Resort is responsible for accommodation and feeding of all the 16 countries here. Ilaji also paid for flight tickets of some officials from outside the country. Our joy is that it will be on record that Nigeria hosted this tournament,” he said.
