Having called perfectly the scoreline between Arsenal and West Brom from last Match Day, I’m back with my predictions for this week’s round of matches. Check out who I’m tipping to win this weekend.
HUDDERSFIELD V SPURS
Huddersfield scooped a point at Burnley last weekend – just as I predicted. But this weekend, they come up against a Spurs side that have won all their Premier League matches away from home – so far in the season. Harry Kane is scoring for fun at the moment, I just can’t see anything other than a Spurs win here.
MY PREDICTIONS: Huddersfield 1-2 Spurs
BOURNEMOUTH V LEICESTER
You just can’t help but admire how Eddie Howe sets his Bournemouth side out to play. But, I think they will find it difficult playing against a counter-attacking side in Leicester City. It’s going to be a difficult game for both sides. Hence, am sticking with a draw here.
MY PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester
MAN UTD V CRYSTAL PALACE
You just have to feel sympathy for Roy Hodgson. Got beat on his debut game against Southampton at home, and was hammered by Pep Guardiola’s City last weekend 5-0. He is up against high-flying Manutd this weekend. With Lukaku and Manutd flying at the moment, they would be licking their lips in anticipation of this clash at Old Trafford on Saturday. United play Liverpool next, and with City playing against Chelsea this weekend, The Red Devils just have to win this to go top of the log – prior to the clash at Stamford Bridge.
MY PREDICTION: Man Utd 3-0 Crystal Palace
STOKE V SOUTHAMPTON
Stoke couldn’t handle Chelsea’s “masterclass” at home last weekend, as they were thrashed 4-0. Meanwhile, Southampton showed some laudable stuffs against Manchester United last weekend – as they were only unlucky not to get anything from the clash – after their impressive second half performance. If Southampton build on that majestic second half display against José Mourinho’s Men in this one, they should leave the Bet365 Stadium with something.
MY PREDICTION: Stoke 1-1 Southampton
WEST BROM V WATFORD
Having lost against City and Arsenal in their last two league games, Tony Pulis will be asking his wards to go all out for a win against Watford this weekend. But, Watford have performed excellently well away from home so far in this campaign – winning all three matches away from home. Difficult one to call. But I think Watford have been impressive at away grounds, and they should get something again at West Brom.
MY PREDICTION: West Brom 0-0 Watford
WEST HAM V SWANSEA
West Ham would be looking to bounce back – after their 3-2 defeat against Spurs last weekend. They have been impressive this month at home until Spurs came. But, against a Swansea side that have been inspiring away from home this season, expect a thriller in this one. Though, I expect The Hammers to come out with a slim win here.
MY PREDICTION: West Ham 1-0 Swansea
CHELSEA V MAN CITY
Definitely the biggest clash of the round. Antonio Conte’s side with five wins in six; and nineteen goals in the month of September – in all competitions, come against a Pep Guardiola side with six win in six – scoring 24 goals in the same period all competitions. Terrific that. But if Man City wants to show why they have been dubbed as title favorites heading into this campaign, then, they should be getting a result at the Bridge. Both sides will match each other in all facets on the pitch. But the side that will be more clinical in front of goal, wins this one. I am tipping the match to end in a draw.
MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-2 Man City
ARSENAL V BRIGHTON
Arsené Wenger will be looking at this game and next weekend’s clash at Watford as winnable games, and try climb further up the log – as some of the top teams come up against each other this weekend and the next. Brighton wouldn’t come to The Emirates with a defeatist mindset, though. But it’s going to be a win for the Gunners here.
MY PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton
EVERTON V BURNLEY
Burnley haven’t lost any league game in their last four: which includes games at Spurs and at Liverpool. But Everton would be looking to build on their remarkable comeback win against Bournemouth last weekend in this game . Difficult one this, but I expect Everton to just nick it.
MY PREDICTION: Everton 1-0 Burnley
NEWCASTLE V LIVERPOOL
Liverpool’s problem have been in stopping teams from scoring against them – as they have been leaking goals all season. And if Newcastle can get one or two here, then we might be talking about a Newcastle win or a draw. With Sadio Mane back for this one after serving his three-game suspension for a challenge at Man City, I expect Liverpool to have too much in their attack for Newcastle. This is one of those Premier League games you just can’t afford to miss.
MY PREDICTION: Newcastle 1-2 Liverpool
