Victor Osimhen
Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, has been released from hospital in Bergamo following a head injury he sustained on Sunday when his team, Napoli lost 2-4 to Atalanta in a Serie A game.
A statement from Napoli confirmed that Osimhen was due to return to Naples on Monday night after his release from the hospital.
“Victor Osimhen is due to return to Naples on Monday evening after staying in Bergamo overnight [Sunday] as a precaution.
“The club and doctor Canonico would like to thank the Atalanta medical staff, the resuscitation team at Gewiss Stadium and the A&E staff at the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital for their professionalism. The player will be undergo further assessment on Tuesday,” Napoli’s statement reads.

Osimhen, 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup gold medallist and Golden Boot winner with record 10 goals, passed out after he hit the back of his head on the ground after a clash with Atalanta’s Cristian Romero.
He was placed on oxygen in the ambulance and later regained consciousness enroute to hospital, while the initial diagnosis revealed that the striker who joined Napoli from the French Ligue 1 side Lille suffered a head trauma.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is expected to be rested from Thursday’s Europa League Round of 32 return leg clash against Granada, while he is also likely to miss the domestic home game on Sunday against Benevento.
