Oyinlomo wins DavNotch Open

THIRD seed and former Nigerian number one female tennis player, Quadri Oyinlomo, on Saturday won the 2nd edition DavNotch national tennis open championship.
Oyinlomo humiliated second seed, Aanu Aiyegbusi, 6-0 in the final decided at the Tennis Court of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The defeat was largely aided by the health condition of Aiyegbusi who complained of stomach upset during the game. Oyinlomo, while reacting to her victory, said she won owing to mental fitness as her physical fitness was not 100 percent.
“I am just trying to come to the local scene after some time out playing only international tennis by prioritising the events I attended. I also had about seven months of injury lay off,” she said.
Oyinlomo stated that her focus now is to return to the top and establish herself as the country’s leading player. She said her toughest match in the championship was the semi-final tie against rival Marylove Edwards.
