Pique denies reports of buying Catalan club Reus

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has denied reports of buying La Liga 123 club Reus following media speculation.

CF Reus Deportiu are a Catalan-based club who are in their successive season in Spain’s second tier – the first time they have been in the top two divisions in their history.

El Mundo Deportivo state that sources close to the defender have totally ruled out the reports, stating that the ‘hypothetical conversations over a deal’ were not true.

Pique has in recent weeks spoken of his desire to buy a football club, although it is thought this will not happen until after he concludes his own playing career.
